Adho Mukha Shvānāsana (Downward Facing Dog)

About the Pose

This is a very popular pose in most yoga classes, referred to as “Downward Dog”. It is practiced repeatedly in a flow class. The weight of your head helps to traction your spine, creating more space, as you continually lift your hips away from your hands. It is a great stretch and strengthener for your shoulders and reverses the gravitational pull on your spine towards the floor.
