About the Pose
This pose is actually Trikonāsana (Triangle pose) done lying down. It is a safe stretch for your inner thighs and a good opportunity to detect a possible hip imbalance between your right and left side. Anytime you find this imbalance in any asymmetrical pose in your practice, either start with the less flexible side first, change sides to the more flexible side and then repeat the less flexible side OR stay longer on your less flexible side.
Benefits from the Pose
This pose provides a deep stretch along your inner thighs, helping to release tightness and improve flexibility in your groin and adductor muscles.
By stretching between your frontal hip on one side and extending through your inner ankle on the other, this posture creates a sense of space across the front of your hips and reduces stiffness your inner thighs.
