Tādāsana (Mountain or Palm Tree)

About this Pose

Most people are familiar with this pose. It is sometimes practiced repeatedly when doing several Standing Poses so that the practitioner can come back to his/her center in between the other Standing Poses. Although it appears to be simple, it may have many subtle adjustments. It is a great aid for learning alignment to keep or achieve proper posture.

Benefits from this Pose

  1. This pose serves as a grounding foundation, helping to cultivate balance, stability, and body awareness.

  2. By encouraging proper alignment, this pose naturally enhances your posture so that you may stand with structural support rather than rely on muscular support.
