About the Pose
Commonly referred to as “Triangle” by most yoga teachers, it takes the shape of a triangle illustrated by the relationship of the torso to the legs and the downward arm. Although it’s tempting to strive to have your downward hand as close as possible to the floor, it’s best for the long term integrity of your hip to make sure your hip is in joint and use as high of a support as necessary for your hand.
Pose Benefits
This pose gently encourages external rotation of your hips, increasing flexibility and creating space in your hip joints.
By broadening your chest, this posture fosters a sense of openness and emotional release, often associated with heart-opening both physically and energetically.
