Baddha Konāsana (Bound Angle)

About the Pose

Seeing men in this “cobblers pose” is common in parts of India. This pose gives space to your internal organs and also encourages your kidney energy to lift towards your heart. It is a good stretch for your inner thighs as you extend your upper legs towards your knees. After you extend, rotate your thighbones backwards and your thighs will come more towards the floor with gravity.

Benefits from the Pose

  1. Known as Cobbler’s Pose in India, this grounding posture tones your kidneys, supporting your body’s natural detoxification processes.

  2. By gently stretching your hips and inner thighs, this pose can help relieve pressure on your sciatic nerve, potentially easing sciatic pain and discomfort.
